Our Scope

The scope of our service offering are the following services:

Mergers & Acquisitions

We advise and support clients who want to sell their company, hive off a subsidiary or buy another company resp. amalgamate their company with another company.

M&A powered by AI

Transforming Mergers and Acquisitions through Artificial IntelligenceMergers and acquisitions (M&A) typically involve many complex activities across various phases that, due to the short time frame and competitive environment, require coherent cooperation of the disciplines involved. Technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics are an increasingly decisive lever to successfully execute M&A transactions, significantly accelerating all process phases from preparation to post-merger integration (PMI). PMU sees above all during the typical parts of the m&a process such as m&a analytics, target screening, business valuation and due diligence as the phases where AI can create competitive advantages.

Exit Readiness

In case of a sale assignment, we pay particular attention to the client’s financial status and performance by offering a timely screening of critical issues to be tackled before entering the fray of a corporate sale transaction. Although this is the best way to maximize the value of any divestment, PMU observed, that this is an issue which tends to be overlooked most of the time.

Strategic Advisory

PMU’s Strategic Advisory services are predominantly pertaining to transactions involving change of ownership. There are various reasons why business owners or stakeholders may choose to sell a company. These reasons can be strategic, financial, personal, or a combination of factors. PMU’s Strategic Advisory business provides differentiated strategic and tactical advice as well as smooth execution to private companies in the label, print and packaging industry, predominantly on the EU continent. We help our clients identify and pursue strategic priorities, devise strategies to enhance shareholder value, and develop new ideas and deeper perspective to achieve their goals. In advising companies on an acquisition, merger, or sale, we evaluate potential targets, provide valuation analyses, and evaluate and propose financial and strategic alternatives. We provide owners, boards and management teams with independent judgment and deep expertise as they navigate their most important transactions and strategic decisions. We also advise as to the timing, structure, financing, and pricing of a proposed transaction as well as assist in negotiating and closing the deal.

Corporate Finance

Our general financial advisory work can include financings resp. refinancings or recapitalizations, incl. financial reconstructions resp. in general optimizing financial structure. We also engage in fairness opinions.

Relationship Intelligence

Logically our industry specialisation brings us closer to all that is involved in the LPP industry. This means that our clients will automatically also benefit from our relationship intelligence. Latter refers to the ability to gather, analyze, and leverage information about the relationships between individuals and entities in a business context. It involves understanding and utilizing data and insights to strengthen relationships, drive business outcomes, and make informed decisions.

About & Contact

History

With its origins as the corporate finance subsidiary of Frankfurt based private bank Hauck & Sons in 1985, a buyout in the early nineties subsequently led to the formation of PMU Trust Co. („PMU“). The Company continued to engage in corporate financial advisory services and subsequently developed a strong focus and presence in the Label, Print and Packaging (“LPP”) sector, as well as in the builders merchant industry. Since 2015 PMU is almost exclusively active in the LPP industry. Intimately familiar with LPP-industrial technology and with long standing LPP-market experience embedded in the team, PMU has become focussed on providing independent strategic advice on issues of change of ownership and long-term finance in the mid-cap LPP-industry.

Philosophy

Particularly for smaller Companies it pays to be ahead of the curve prior to embarking on a sale process. Anticipating, preparing and pro-actively engaging offers more options and better results than last minute window dressing. Making our clients aware that it pays to be prepared resp. helping them positioning themselves through professional preparation to make better use of opportunities in the market is one of the key elements of our service-offering.

Industrial Focus

As a corporate financial advisory firm PMU Trust Co. has over time developed a strong industrial focus on the label print and packaging (“LPP”) industry where it has a solid presence and superior market intelligence. Latter leads to a much better understanding of the undercurrents in this rapidly changing industrial sector and contributes to our strength in building lasting business combinations with strong industrial value added. Assignments are carried out across Europe and transactions are mostly executed cross border. As such PMU offers commercial and technical expertise in LPP industry-specialized M&A.
